Hello and thank you for considering me to assist with your birth and newborn days. I love the opportunity to help women in their childbearing years and hope to be able to support you with your upcoming birth and/or postpartum weeks.
My name is Lisa Alden and I began my doula training thirteen years ago during college and continue to supplement my knowledge base with education sessions in various modalities and on a multitude of birth and baby topics. Since beginning my doula work in the mid-90s, I have given birth to two children of my own, experiences that help inform my doula practice with first-hand knowledge of how unique each labor, birth, and baby is. I bring intellect, intuition, compassion, and experience to my birth and postpartum support.
I have experience supporting at births ranging from water births at home through cesarean sections. I welcome families regardless of age, race, religion, relationship status, or sexual orientation. I am happy to provide birth support to women surrendering babies for adoption. I am also pleased to support adoptive parents with the newborn weeks. I am available for daytime and evening postpartum support.
